Michael R. Swearingen

Michael Swearingen was previously with Eli Lilly and Company for over 20 years. His last assignment was as the Manager of Professional Relations and Advocacy, Global Endocrinology. Previously he had held management positions as: Manager of Professional Associations and Event Marketing, Manager of Marketing Services, US Pharmaceutical, and Department Head of Merchandising Production.
A US citizen born in Shelbyville, Indiana, Swearingen received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Indiana University at Indianapolis, Indiana.
Swearingen joined Eli Lilly and Company in 1984 as a marketing associate in merchandising production for oral antibiotics, hospital products, and diabetes care. Following sales training in 1988, he became a pharmaceutical sales representative in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Upon returning to Indianapolis, he was promoted to department head for merchandising production and literature distribution. In 1993 he assumed additional responsibilities for national exhibits, professional relations, the Lilly postgraduate lecture series, US sales services, and medical reprint services. In 1994 he was promoted to Manager of Marketing Services, US Pharmaceutical. In 1999 he held responsibilities for managing US professional associations and event marketing, and in August 2000, was named to Manager of Professional Relations and Advocacy, Global Endocrinology.
Swearingen has served as a past member of the following foundations:

In addition, Swearingen is member and past President of the Triton Central Community Lions Club, a member of The Lions Club International, and The Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem.
