About Managing Type 2 Diabetes and Promoting Metabolic & Cardiovascular Health: Accreditation Statement: This continuing nursing education activity (CEARP #8948, 10/31/09) is approved by the Washington State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Approved for 1.5 contact hours. Statement of Need: The front line for diagnosis, management, and prevention of complications for diabetes is the primary healthcare professional. It is a struggle to assist patients with the battle to manage lifestyle changes, control glucose, and prevent complications. Continuing education is one avenue to keep the primary healthcare professionals up-to-date and motivated. Intended Audience: This program has been developed for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and primary care physicians. Educational Objectives:
