Travelin’ Safe

“More and more Americans of every age are traveling internationally. In the coming year, it is estimated that 40 million will travel including 8 million to developing countries. Some travelers will become sick and for every 100,000 going to developing countries for one month, as many as 75% will develop some illness and including traveler’s diarrhea.”

This is a public health issue. Nurse practitioners need to take a leading role in the prevention of travel-related illnesses.
